Adam continued to grab the headlines with a successful defence of his 100m and 50m Breaststroke titles in impressive fashion.

Two championship records in the 100m event, which he won by more than 1.3 seconds were complemented by two world records in the 50m event, including the first ever sub-26 second performances.

His individual swims were backed up with an outstanding 56.91-second leg split in the 4x100 Medley relay which helped the British team win a silver medal for the second successive World Championships and set a new British record.
