Kate Shortman and Izzy Thorpe have taken on the world's best young synchro stars at the World Junior Championships in Budapest.

Day two of the event saw the Bristol based pairing compete in the duet free and technical events, coming in tenth in both.

In the technical competition the 16 and 17 year-olds finished tenth overall with a score of 81.6957, an improvement on their 79.6877 at European Juniors earlier in the month.

Then in the free event they were awarded 82.9000 - again an improvement on their Europeans score.

The British synchro team will be back in action next for the team technical event.
