Synchro team secure top 10 finish with free routine

Britain's Synchronised Swimmers have secured a ninth place finish in the team free routine final.

Britain's team scored 78.9333 with their tribal themed routine, with the dominant Russia and Ukraine taking gold and silver respectively. Italy claimed the bronze medal on Day 2 of Glasgow 2018.

The team, made up of Kate Shortman, Isabelle Thorpe, Greta Hampson, Daniella Lloyd, Torrie Usher, Harriette Smith, Abigail Taylor,  Millie Costello, Mimi Gray, Daisy Rushton, Ilaria Brandimarte and Cerys Hughes have only had six weeks of training time to perfect their routine around club and school commitments. 

In addition to working on moving between Junior and Senior competition, the squad's main goal at this competition is to narrow the points gap between their closest rivals as part of their preparations for Tokyo 2020.
