Continuing the Heatly legacy

Over 60 years separates the success of James Heatly and his Grandfather Sir Peter Heatly after both won European medals. 

Sir Peter is Scotland's most successful diver and he was recently inducted posthumously into the International Swimming Hall of Fame. 

He competed in two Olympic Games and three Commonwealth Games and in 1954 at the European Diving Championships he won a bronze medal in the 10m Platform.

Skip forward 60 years and James is paving his way in the world of international diving. He competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in his home pool and in front of Sir Peter. 

At the 2017 European Championships James got to stand on the international podium after emulating his Grandfather by winning bronze in the 3m Synchro. 

James has also secured his place at his first World Championships this year where he will compete in the 1m Springboard.
