Dixon secures bronze in Platform

Matthew Dixon won his first bronze medal of the 2014 LEN European Junior Diving Championships in the Group B Platform event.

Dixon performed consistently and secured his best total in his Back 3 ½ Somersaults tucked which was the toughest dive in his list.

The Plymouth-based diver, who was recently named in the Team England Diving squad, qualified for the final in fourth place and showed his maturity to move up into the medal positions.

Dixon won the bronze with a score of 380.95.

Millie Haffety (City of Sheffield) and Lois Toulson (City of Leeds) competed together in the 3m Synchro and took fifth place overall.

The new pairing had strong scores in synchronicity and finished the final with a total of 231.78.

In the Group B 1m Springboard Blaise Fice and Sarah Leach finished in seventh and eighth place respectively. Fice (Plymouth Diving) scored a total of 300.40 with Leach (City of Sheffield) finished with 293.35 points.
