Team GB have been named as the best Olympic team by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) after their best ever performance at a Games in Rio.

The British Swimming team really got the success off to a strong start for Team GB as they claimed the country's first gold medal and world record after Adam Peaty reached for the wall in the 100m Breaststroke.

Jazz Carlin also became the first athlete to win two medals after she took two silvers in the 400m and 800m Freestyle. It was the swimming team's best performance at an Olympics since 1908.

The Diving team also enjoyed their best ever performance as they won three medals including the sport's first ever gold. Jack Laugher and Chris Mears stood on top of the podium in the 3m Synchro and Laugher backed this up to win silver in the individual and become diving's first ever multi-medallist at one Games for Great Britain.

Team GB became the first ever team to win more medals four years after hosting the Games.
