Barcelona challenge for Marathon swimmers

A team of five marathon swimmers competed at the LEN Open Water Cup in the Catalan capital of Barcelona over the weekend.

The event formed part of race preparation ahead of the European Championships that will be held in Loch Lomond this August.

In the Men’s 10km race Loughborough-based Tobias Robinson finished in eighth position, Hector Pardoe in 32nd and Caleb Hughes in 41st.

In the Women’s event Polly Holden was the highest placed British athlete with a final ranking of 14th with double Olympic medallist Jazz Carlin finishing in 22nd overall.
