Jessica Fullalove secured two silver medals on the second day of the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing.
The City of Manchester swimmer touched 0.01 seconds behind Clara Smiddy (USA) to win silver in the 100m Backstroke before joining with Georgina Evans, Charlotte Atkinson and Amelia Maughan to secure her second silver medal of the day in the 4x100m Medley Relay.
Fullalove said: “I‘m really happy to have won two silver medals and I am really proud of the girls’ efforts in the relay medley as we all worked so hard for it.
“Winning silver in the Backstroke is great but coming that close to the gold is gutting because it was what I dreamed about. But it’s nice to end on a high and it has been a good night overall.”
Also in action was Luke Greenbank who finished sixth in the men’s 100m Backstroke in a British 16 Years Age Group record 55.38.
In the 200m Freestyle Duncan Scott missed out on a medal by 0.82 seconds to finish fourth while Georgina Evans was sixth in the 50m Breaststroke final.
