3 Dec 2014

A British medley relay team that competed at last year’s European Short Course Swimming Championships has been promoted to the bronze medal position following the doping case of Russian athlete Yulia Efimova.

Following a FINA Doping Panel established on 12 May 2014 and FINA Doping Panel established on 3 November 2014, the world governing body has informed of its decision that all performances established by swimmer Yulia Efimova (RUS), starting from 31 October 2013, are to be forfeited.

Performances achieved by the swimmer in Herning (DEN) on the occasion of the European Short Course Swimming Championships held on 12-15 December 2013 are to be cancelled.

Efimova was part of a Russian quartet that initially won the Women's 4x50m Medley Relay. Following FINA's decision, Denmark are awarded gold, Sweden the silver and Britain the bronze.
