Golds cap off strong British outing

Jazz Carlin and Adam Peaty lead the impressive British performances on the final day of the Mare Nostrum in Barcelona each winning more gold as Britain added 14 further medals to their total.

Carlin lead a British one-two in the 400m Freestyle and took the victory from team-mate Camilla Hattersley while Stephen Milne won gold and Tim Shuttleworth the bronze in the 1500m Freestyle.

World Champion and World Record holder Peaty was in devastating form in the 50m Breaststroke to take gold while World Champion James Guy also took the victory in the 200m Freestyle with a strong swim. 

British athletes completed a clean sweep of the medals in the Women’s 50m Backstroke with Georgia Davies leading the way with gold from Fran Halsall and Jess Fullalove. And Chloe Tutton won silver in the Women’s 100m Breaststroke while Ben Proud won silver in the Men’s 50m Freestyle.

Max Litchfield took bronze in the Men’s 400m IM, Chris Walker-Hebborn earned bronze in the Men’s 100m Backstroke and Ross Murdoch also won bronze in the 200m Breaststroke.
