Swimming mourns loss of Lindsay Powell

British Swimming offers its deepest condolences to the family and friends of swimming coach and international team manager Lindsay Powell.

Exeter City Swimming Club’s assistant head coach Lindsay sadly passed away on Friday 1st September while on holiday in St Lucia. 

Swimming meant everything to Lindsay. She was involved in the swimming world for many, many years from a successful swimmer to a highly regarded coach. She was also appointed as a British Swimming team manager on numerous occasions.

Previously Lindsay was assistant head coach at Portsmouth Northsea Swimming Club, head coach of City of Oxford, head coach of Haslemere, area head coach of Glasgow and assistant coach at Millfield.

During her career Lindsay worked with many age group swimmers who have gone on to represent GB at Olympic and World level. She also placed swimmers on Commonwealth Games and European.

Lindsay will be sadly missed.
