3 Mar 2017

Chloe Tutton was one of five British Swimming medallists on day one of the Pro Swim Series meet in Indianapolis after topping a strong field in the 200m Breaststroke.

Double Olympic medallist Jazz Carlin produced a silver in the Women’s 400m Freestyle before James Guy, another double Olympic medallist, also took silver in the men’s event. Guy was joined on the podium by team mate Max Litchfield with the bronze.

In the 100m Freestyle, double Olympic medallist, Duncan Scott took silver in a very strong field.

The British squad of 41 features a combination of podium and podium potential athletes as they continue a racing strategy in preparation for the British Swimming Championships in Sheffield (18-23 April), where titles and selection to this year’s international events including the World Championships will be fought for.

Many of the younger athletes were involved in B finals on day one. Abbie Wood and Isobel Griffiths grabbed the chance of a second swim with both hands and delivered gold medals in the Women’s 200m Breaststroke and 400m Freestyle respectively.

Luke Davies and Ed Baxter won silver and bronze in the Men’s 200m Breaststroke while Emily Large took the silver in the Women’s 100m Butterfly, Calum Jarvis won the silver in the men’s event and Hannah Miley took bronze in the 200m Breaststroke.
