It was another busy session down under for our home nation swimmers and plenty of strong performances across the board with a further 23 final berths booked.
After yesterday’s first senior international medal for Duncan Scott (Scotland) a silver in the Men’s 200m Freestyle, he was back in action in both the 200m Butterfly and 100m Freestyle.
He finished the heats ranked second fastest and comfortably booked he place in the Men’s 200m Butterfly final alongside defending Commonwealth champion Chad Le Clos (South Africa) and the fastest qualifier Mackenzie Darragh of Canada.
England’s Jacob Peters will join Scott in the 200m Butterfly as he continues his impressive Commonwealth debut that saw him finish seventh in the 50m event yesterday.
After qualifying for the Men's 200m Butterfly final, James Guy (England) has withdrawn from the race on medical grounds. He is hoping to continue his Gold Coast campaign tomorrow.

The Women’s SM10 200m Individual Medley was the other para event of the day three heats session and it saw Scot Toni Shaw impress again as she swam up a classification to claim her place in final.
Teammate Beth Johnston got her Commonwealth Games campaign underway in same event but narrowly missed out on a second swim.
Day three’s serving of relay action will see England, Scotland and Wales all in action in the Women’s 4x200m Freestyle relay final and it’s set to be another thrilling race.
Semi-final swims were all secured by Charlotte Atkinson (Isle of Man), Alys Thomas, Harriet Jones and Harriet West, of Wales in the Women’s 50m Butterfly.
In the Men’s 100m Freestyle semi-finals four home nation athletes will race again. Duncan Scott and Jack Thorpe will line-up for Scotland, Calum Jarvis for Wales, England’s David Cumberlidge and in representation for Northern Ireland will come in the form of Jordan Sloan.
Conor Ferguson (Northern Ireland was the fastest) home nation athlete through to the semi-finals of the Men’s 50m Backstroke.
At the conclusion of the three heats Xavier Castelli (Wales) and Scotland’s Craig McNally ranked top sixteen to swim again. Guernsey and Jersey will also be represented in the form of Thomas Hollingsworth and Harry Shalamon.
