Aquatics GB, the organisation that oversees aquatics sports in Great Britain - Swimming, Para Swimming, Diving, Artistic Swimming and Water Polo - is seeking an Athlete Representative to join the Aquatics GB Board.

The purpose of this role is to make an effective contribution to the Aquatics GB Board, to ensure that they represent the athletes, drive continuous improvement, a sustainable performance culture and provide strategic leadership to the delivery of the corporate plan.

Athlete representation provides an important mechanism for effective consultation between athletes, world class system employees and the wider governing body and seeks to drive continuous improvement and a sustainable performance culture. The Role also ensures that Aquatics GB is able to benefit from the perspective and expertise of world class athletes in its deliberations and decision making and provides world class athletes with a formal mechanism for ensuring that their views on key matters are heard at Board level.

Applicants shall submit a nomination form or video summarising and outlining their suitability for the Role based on the Eligibility Criteria above and the following: - 

  • Name, age/date of birth, discipline, date of last international competition of which you were part of an Aquatics GB (GBR) squad/team.
  • Confirmation that you have not served a ban from any sport for any reason
  • Provide a Personal Statement, if written, limited to 500 words, and if submitting a video limited to 1 (one) minute in length outlining why you should be considered for the Role and to include: 
  • Evidence of your commitment to fulfilling the objects and representing the values of Aquatics GB; 
  • Evidence of skills and competencies required for the fulfilment of the responsibilities of the Role;
